On Joyful Wings: We Were Lost. We Were Free

On Joyful Wings is going to be a compilation of music, released online only with all the proceeds going towards breast cancer research.

My brother, James, got the idea when his wife, Mayme, signed up to walk 60 miles in 3-days in support of breast cancer research. Mayme needs to raise approximately $2,500 and James thought this would be a great way to raise money.

In the past our cousin Christina Kleymeer has done a lot in support of breast cancer research. Christina has done the 3-day walk 4 times and also has participated in local one day walks as well.

Our mother, Patricia, also has been a big supporter and has been on the medical crew for the 3-day for 2 years.

My wife, Jessica, has done the 3-day walk and has done local one day walks.

James and I also have participated in the local one day walks.

Our whole family feels very strongly about this. Back in 1998, Our Grandmother and Patricia's mother, Phyllis Slagter passed away from breast cancer at far too young an age. She was a light in this world who brought joy and happiness to everyone she meet. You ask anyone who knew her and instantly a smile adorns their face. She was a wonderful grandmother, mother and wife, married to Martin Slagter for 50 years before the Lord took her home. We miss her every day. This is why we walk; this is why we are putting together this compilation.

Who do you walk for?

For Phyllis Jean Slagter; a light.
